Calling all Country Dance Enthusiasts!

The Standard Western Country Dance Competition is back for its 2nd qualifier of the year on Saturday, April 13th at The Nashville Palace, and we’re looking for the most energetic Line Dancers, the slickest Country Swing Dancers, to compete for prizes, bragging rights &  place in the grand finals on December 7th  where will will find out who are the best Country Dancers in Nashville TN!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just love to mosey on the dance floor, this is your chance to show off your moves and boogie on down with other country dance aficionados.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Date: Saturday, April 13th
  • Location: The Nashville Palace 
  • Address: 2611 McGavock Pk, Nashville, TN 37214
  • Categories: Line Dance & Country Swing
  • Registration: Will happen on the night of the competition starting at 7pm and closing at 9:45pm.
  • Competition Starts: 10pm
  • Competition Finishes: 12am
  • Spectators Welcome! Even if you’re not competing, come on out and cheer on the dancers, enjoy some country tunes, and maybe learn a new move or two!

🏆The Line Dance for the competition will be “The Vibe”.

*We will play the music until the judges feel they have everything they need from each round.

General Rules

-Acrobatic moves are strictly prohibited.

-Avoid wearing any vulgar or inappropriate costumes.

-The use of props is not permitted.

-Refrain from performing any crude or vulgar movements.

-If you have already placed in the top 3 in a category you cannot compete again

Line Dance Rules

-Dancers must keep steps to the official step sheet

-Dancers must dance to the official step sheet for the first two walls and can only introduce variations on the third, fifth, and subsequent odd walls. On the fourth, sixth, and subsequent even walls, dancers must add styling to their vanilla steps.

-Dancers must stay in their allocated area and be aware of their surroundings.

Country Swing Rules

-There will be no lifts allowed in the Country swing category.

-Dips and leans are fine as long as one foot is placed on the floor at all times.

-Dancers must follow the star pattern.

-Couples must stay must stay in their allocated area and be aware of their surroundings.
